Lucky Voice

A new pub in Barsha Heights worth singing about

-

Part rock pub, part stylish bar, and with karaoke pods to boot, Lucky Voice is a rare venue that caters to all tastes.

During our visit, the after-work crowd were taking full advantage of the bar’s daily happy hour, while birthday parties were ready to rock out in the karaoke rooms. There are 11 soundproof booths to choose from, each with a menu of more than 15,000 tracks that you can peruse on screens. The sofas are perfect for taking a breather between those ’80s ballads, and there are loads of accessories for those mid-karaoke photo opportunities. You can even order food and drink to the room. We loved the tongue-in-cheek cocktail list, which includes a twist on a classic Tom Collins called the Raspberry Phil Collins, and is served in a coffee mug that says ‘Keep Calm And Sing Phil Collins’. Solid life advice there.

Food-wise, expect pub grub: fish and chips (Dhs90), and a range of sliders (from Dhs55) and tacos (from Dhs45). If you only order one thing, make it the smoking hot fries (Dhs35), a massive portion of calorific fries smothered in cheddar, pancetta and jalapeños. Plan your visit for a Wednesday or a Friday, when the resident band Game Over get everyone pumped with their set list of crowd pleasers. Or, grab the girls for a vocal ladies’ night and get free-flowing drinks and karaoke tester sessions. This month sees the launch of Lucky Voice’s Friday brunch too, so watch this space.
