The Color Run gets a tropical twist on Yas Island
Bored of running down the same old streets? Then you might want to try this March’s The Color Run. The event returns to the capital with a new tropical island theme.
Presented by Daman’s Active Life, the race will see runners complete a 5K loop around Yas Marina Circuit on March 25. The untimed fun run, aimed just as much at families as serious runners, sees participants dressed in white get powdered paint thrown all over them at five designated colour stations based at each kilometre interval. It’s similar to the Indian festival of Holi, just with sweatbands.
New this year is the Tropicolor Zone, complete with palm trees and island-style music, as well as the Rainbow Beach where runners can join in the celebrations (think dancing, activations and colour throws) at the Finish Festival.
All runners will receive a Tropicolor T-shirt, embroidered headband, temporary tattoos and tropical flower lei. If you want more kit, deluxe tickets will have you sporting a tutu, sunglasses, socks and wristband. March 25
