Get fit and raise funds with a 24-hour race

This one doesn’t take place until November, but that gives you the whole summer to raise funds and get training. The Relay For Life is a 24-hour walk (but don’t worry, you enter as a team). It’s a global event, with walks held across six continents and 29 countries, and this is the first year that it comes to the UAE, as part of a collaboration between Friends of Cancer Patients, the American Cancer Society and the American University Of Sharjah. The aim is to raise funds for the support of cancer patients (it is, after all, the Year Of Giving in the UAE) and raise awareness of the disease itself.
