Glastonbury England

June is the month of festivals, and Glastonbury is the go-to event this summer in the UK. Pack your wellies and head for the hills of Worthy Farm. The mud-ridden glam fest has a brilliant line-up this year including Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran. Montreux Jazz Festival Geneva, Switzerland

Held on the banks of the clear blue Lake Geneva – with the Alps in the background – this music fest is known for late-night jam sessions in the streets and on roof terraces of pristine Belle Époque palaces. The small, classy town of Montreux Riviera turns into an intimate improvisation stage, where legends of jazz and blues pour their souls into their repertoire. For a more intimate and unusual performance, book tickets aboard the New Orleans Train or Montreux Jazz Boats. Meadows In The Mountains Rhodopian Mountains, Bulgaria

Glastonbury’s fab, but genuine bohemians get their thrills at a festival up a Bulgarian hill-top. Meadows In The Mountains is a free-spirited music festival, which feels as if you’re stepping into Alice In Wonderland. With beautiful views and creative art set-ups, it’s the perfect hippie hangout.
