When’s it opening? September 2017 There’s a new restaurant taking centre stage at Dubai Opera from September 1. The enormous rooftop level, complete with outdoor terrace and bar, has been taken over by master chef Sean Connolly, whose restaurants in New Zealand and Australia have garnered him critical acclaim. Sean Connolly At Dubai Opera has the contemporary feel of a cool Bondi brasserie, but despite its swanky location, don’t expect a highbrow, fine-dining meal here. “I wanted to make a restaurant that was totally approachable and casual in nature, and we think the food and vibe reflects this,” says Connolly. So what’s on the menu? “Predominantly steak, seafood and duck fat chips. Oh, and there’s even a proper pizza oven for a quick pre-theatre snack.” Sounds worthy of a standing ovation, Sean.
