“Every inconvenience is an opportunity”

Sid Vohra

- Popular radio host on life lessons learnt the hard way

What is the number one item on your wish list? To finally learn how to solve the Rubik’s cube.

What good deed are you hoping to do today? If I can give somebody a decent lunch or dinner, my day will be made.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? This is a bit odd, but I would make everybody stop growing after the age of five. When you’re a child, all your thoughts, actions and emotions are so honest and pure. No one thinks about anything like world domination or sabotage.

Your idea of an exercise routine? I work out three days a week, for an hour. I’ve learnt that you need to be really religious about workout sessions — be fully focused for those 60 minutes.

Your favourite hangout in the UAE? It would have to be JBR or Kite Beach.

What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning? How many more minutes can I spend sleeping today? Every minute is precious at that time of the day.

The app on your smartphone that you click on most often? Whatsapp.

Your favourite movie character of all time and why? Depending on my mood, it usually shifts between the simpleboy- helping- everybody Rocky to the best- friend Maverick from Top Gun.

What is one major life lesson you’ve learnt and what advice would you give others? One thing I’ve learnt the hard way is that experience is what comes when you don’t get something you want. Also, every inconvenience is an opportunity. HE’S THE MAN: Sid’s favourite character is boxer Rocky from the eponymous movie

Daman’s Activelife is launching a new monthly vertical training event named Trainzsc as part of its popular ‘ Train’ programme — and, for the first time, the Zayed Sports City Stadium will open its doors to the public for free!

Beginning on April 28, the event will take place on the last Thursday of every month, between 6pm and 9pm, where participants can climb the stadium steps for increased cardiovascular and muscle- building exercise.

The event is familyfriendly, and offers a play area for children to enjoy while their parents exercise.

It is necessary to register in order to attend the event. This can be done at the venue on the day, or queues can be avoided by registering beforehand at www. trainzsc. com.
