Making us look a little like we were auditioning for The Fly, these super-wide goggles from swim experts Speedo had us initially baffled. Pulling them out of the packaging, their wide lenses are designed to offer maximum peripheral vision, while the mirrored lenses are tinted. Both these things would lead us to put them in the open-water category; yet Speedo tell us these are specifically meant for pool swimming. That weirdness aside, these are actually an impressive goggle. Those wide lenses feature super-soft gaskets that create a good seal on the face and we experienced no leaks once we got the fit right. As promised by Speedo, the goggle marks on our face post-swim were much less apparent as well. For us, the tint was a little too dark for the pool, but that’s a personal thing. They’re not cheap, either, but quality is excellent and you do get a hard case. HW I I
