PUSHING THRU

Holding the Fuji’s wheels in place are thru axles. Thru axles have been co-opted from mountain biking and provide a secure connection between the frame and wheels when using disc brakes. Instead of the traditional open dropout, thru axles require frames with closed dropouts and are screwed into placed rather than being clamped shut. The Fuji uses industry standard 142 x 12mm thru axles. They’re no harder to use than a quick release and almost as fast.
