HEART SPORTS SHORT SLEEVE

£115 Can Heart continue their winning tri start?

-

Heart Sports knocked our socks off with their launch in 2015, thanks to their assured – and remarkably well-priced – tri-suit debut, labelled “genius” by our tester. Much of the acclaim stemmed from the ‘floating’ pocket design, which are separated to stop the shorts riding up when full. Away from the huge visual change to this winning Tetris design, there have been subtle updates, including a lower neckline to stop rubbing (a niggle from Mk1) that, despite the lack of a zip guard, didn’t rub on the chest when under a wetsuit and after four hours in the saddle. A massive sell is the full-length zipper, which allows easy access for toilet stops. Elsewhere, the sleeves stay in place without needing strong arm grippers, and were restriction-free in the pool. The latter makes the suit applicable for pool-swim tri, and we’d no qualms using this for all distances. The padded chamois is able to handle extended saddle stints and, although wide at 19cm, is barely noticeable on the run. Our only problem is that the chamois felt slippery on our saddle, at the start of rides especially. If Mk3 could add some textured fabric under the pad, then that score could nudge even higher.
