The Aeron jacket is described as an extra wind-blocking layer for cool and/or drizzly weather, and paired with a base layer and jersey it does the job well for the price. Weighing a miniscule 86g, it fits effortlessly into a jersey pocket with room to spare, and mesh side panels offer decent breathability so you shouldn’t need to remove it midride. This jacket won’t keep you very dry or very warm on its own – it’s an emergency layer – but, in terms of wind and rain protection from our test rides, it performs on par with packable jackets more than twice the price.
