It’s time to assess your readiness to race with this pace test set…

Race season is pretty much in full swing now – heck, you might even have completed a few races! – but did you pace them properly? Did you go out too hard and hit the wall before the end? Or did you go out too easy and feel like you could have put more in? I suspect the answer to those questions was no, yes/yes. And you’re not alone!

So, with the majority of big UK races still to come, which will most likely include your A-race for the year, it’s important that you figure this out so you know where your limits are, allowing you to give your very best, each and every time.

The aim of this month’s session, right, is to help find your rough race pace to work at and also give you an idea of what ‘too fast’ and ‘too slow’ might feel like for a given race distance.

Hopefully, what you’ll realise by the end of the session, is that ‘too slow’ may be exactly what you need to start off with to make sure you finish strong!
