£590 The priciest suit on test, the Mako was also the most striking looking and we loved those funky arms. Getting in and out of it proved a struggle as this was the tightest and least flexible on test with a jersey lining that wasn’t easy to slip in to, but once in the water it really came into its own. You get 1.5mm neoprene in the arms and shoulders, but with a rolled neck that kept water out. A mix of 3mm and 5mm panels in the back and legs kept the body position in check and legs high (athough our back ached a little) and the suit was fast round our 1.9km timed lap.
