THE RAINBOW CHALLENGE

I want to tell you about my amazing tri club – Calne SMaRTT. At the beginning of the restrictions, I wanted to help people feel better in some small way. The result was ‘Rainbow Challenge’, set up in response to lockdown. Everyone was split into teams according to the colours of the rainbow.

The first challenge was for each person to record their longest run in a week while wearing their team colours… and as a club we ran from Wiltshire to Edinburgh (virtually).

Rainbow Challenge II – we had a month to travel as many swim, bike and/or run miles as we could. And together we travelled 14,983.45 miles! I live in Virginia, USA, but am due to move back to Calne soon. It only took Calne SMaRTT nine days to travel over for a visit!

These challenges have only been a success because everyone in Calne SMaRTT was so enthusiastic. They encouraged each other every day and I’m so glad I’m part of such a fantastic club who humour some of my mad-cap ideas. As for who won, that goes to the purple team. Alas I was in yellow!
