Po­lice seize plants in cannabis raids

PO­LICE have found cannabis plants in sep­a­rate raids in Ac­cring­ton and Great Har­wood.

A num­ber of plants – in­clud­ing those pic­tured on our front page – were found at a house in Great Har­wood.

Neigh­bour­hood po­lice of­fi­cers PC Vicky Heys and PCSO Chris Mckier­nan ex­e­cuted a drug war­rant on Grimshaw Street on Tues­day, July 28.

They found 18 cannabis plants grow­ing in­side the house and a quan­tity of cannabis bush.

A Lan­cashire Po­lice spokesper­son said a man is due to at­tend a po­lice sta­tion in due course for a vol­un­tary in­ter­view.

Of­fi­cers from the Cen­tral and Springhill Neigh­bour­hood Polic­ing Team found nine cannabis plants in the up­stairs room of an ad­dress on Mal­ham Av­enue, Ac­cring­ton, at around 11.30am on Mon­day, July 27.

They also seized nu­mer­ous dry cannabis buds in­side a large tub.

A po­lice spokesper­son said a man will vol­un­tar­ily at­tend an in­ter­view with of­fi­cers at the be­gin­ning of Au­gust.
