Police seize plants in cannabis raids

POLICE have found cannabis plants in separate raids in Accrington and Great Harwood.

A number of plants – including those pictured on our front page – were found at a house in Great Harwood.

Neighbourhood police officers PC Vicky Heys and PCSO Chris Mckiernan executed a drug warrant on Grimshaw Street on Tuesday, July 28.

They found 18 cannabis plants growing inside the house and a quantity of cannabis bush.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said a man is due to attend a police station in due course for a voluntary interview.

Officers from the Central and Springhill Neighbourhood Policing Team found nine cannabis plants in the upstairs room of an address on Malham Avenue, Accrington, at around 11.30am on Monday, July 27.

They also seized numerous dry cannabis buds inside a large tub.

A police spokesperson said a man will voluntarily attend an interview with officers at the beginning of August.
