Trailblaze­rs for six to 12-year-olds:

Reading is not just for school... it can be fun and take you to whole new worlds. (Plus, kids who read for fun do better at school as a bonus). For those aged between six and 12, who love reading and talking about the books they have read, a monthly Trailblaze­rs Reading Group. At the sessions we have fun chatting about books and join in with quizzes, crafts and games. We also provide the refreshmen­ts. Talk to a member of staff at the library. Free. 10.30am-11.30am.

Guided Walk in Bacup:

A guided walk to take in spectacula­r views around Bacup and discover features you might not know about. Join Proffitts staff on a guided walk around the Greensnook area of Bacup. This walk is not suitable for pushchairs and mobility scooters due to steep gradients and unmade paths (difficulty rating = 2) There will be chance for a brew and chat after the walk provided as part of the project.
