Business Woman of the Year nomination for uniform designer

-

A DESIGN manager for an Altham uniform supplier has been shortlisted as Business Woman of the Year in this year’s Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs).

Helen Harker has worked at Simon Jersey for more than 25 years creating brand-enhancing uniforms for companies including Emirates Airlines, Argos and Hertz.

Last year Helen’s designs ensured that the business secured a multi-million pound contract – the biggest in its history – as well as the agreement to supply Team GB with formal suiting and paradewear for the closing ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

After a three-stage BIBA shortlisting process, which has included the judges visiting her at work in Altham, Helen will discover whether she has won at the awards ceremony at Blackpool Tower on Friday, September 11.

Helen admits she is up against ‘some tough competition’, but said: “I’ve had a fantastic career with Simon Jersey but last year was really special and it’s great to be shortlisted for the award.”
