Morgan’s feeling right at home

ADAM Morgan says Accrington Stanley already feels like home to him after joining the club earlier this summer.

The ex-Liverpool youngster spent a frustrating year with Yeovil Town before deciding to make the move to the Store First Stadium last month.

He scored his first goals for the club during Saturday’s friendly win over Marine, and he is excited for what the future holds.

“I’m loving it up here. I feel at home, the lads have made me feel part of the team straight away and I’m just looking forward to the season and hopefully making a good start,” he said.

“I needed a new start. I’m really happy that I chose Accrington for that start. There are a lot of Scousers here and a lot of welcoming people and I feel like I’m friends with everyone already and a part of the club.

“I’ve been getting a bit frustrated in a few of the games I’ve played. I think my overall play has been good but I’ve just been missing the goal. To get a couple against Marine really helps and it was a great feeling to score.”

Stanley have a lot of strike options to pick from, with competition for places tough at the Reds.

John Coleman’s men begin their League Two campaign against Luton Town next weekend, and Morgan believes their forward line is as good as anybody’s in the league.

“We’ve got a lot of good attacking options. We know that we’re part of a team and I’m sure we can all play our part,” he said.

“Terry Gornell didn’t play at the weekend and we still scored four. He’s been excellent in pre-season and I know Billy Kee has scored a lot of goals at this level and we have some great young players too.

“We’re always going to try to take the game to teams but that doesn’t mean we want to concede goals.

“I think you’ve seen in pre-season that our defence has the potential to be rock solid. I think Dean Winnard would rip anyone’s head off if they conceded a goal!”
