DILWYN GRIFFITHS

MR Dilwyn Griffiths of Park View, Church, Accrington died on Wednesday, July 22 aged 83 years.

In his early years, he worked as an under carder at Vine Mill, he was a shop fitter at Shopfitters Oswaldtwistle, a labourer at Labouring Mastabar in Church, for a brief period he was a steward at the Pioneer Club, Church, and then he retired from ‘Express Gifts Church’.

He was a member of Brooks Club and Padiham Church Street Club and the CIU.

When much younger, he was a member of Chris Dillon’s Boxing Club, and Blackburn Rovers later with his only grandson Andrew. He leaves behind his wife Marie Rosemary, daughters Christine and Valerie, their husbands Colin and Stuart, grandchildren Nicola, Kelly, and Andrew, great grandchildren Eleanor, Isobel, Tabitha, Luke, Ellie, and Amelia, along with English and Welsh nephews and nieces.

The funeral service followed by cremation will be held on Thursday, August 6 at 1pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers are welcome with donations to Park View Friendship Club c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
