KENNETH BRIDGE

-

MR Kenneth Bridge of Holcombe Brook, formerly from Accrington, passed away on July 23 at Bury Hospice after a short illness, aged 82.

He started work, aged 14, as an office boy at Howard and Bulloughs, before training to become a draughtsman. As his career progressed he held many managerial roles which often took him working overseas, until his retirement as engineering director at Piatt Saco Lowell in 1991.

He will also be remembered by many as an amateur pianist and singer. He always had a regular and enthusiastic following when he played in various pubs and clubs.

During his retirement, Ken and his late wife Jane enjoyed many cruises. They also loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.

He leaves his daughters Lorraine and Janice, sons-in-law Roger and Ade, sister and brother-inlaw Barbare and Steven and grandsons Sam, Jacob and Tom. He will be greatly missed. Many thanks to the staff at North Manchester Hospital, and especially nursing staff at Bury Hospice.

The service was held on July 30, 1pm, at Accrington Crematorium and will be officiated by Fr Terry Murnane. Family flowers only, donations to Bury Hospice. Funeral directors: Hyndburn Funeral Services.
