Soap star Sam delivers school mementoes

-

A CORONATION Street star made a surprise visit to an Accrington school - to personally hand out sweatshirts.

Sam Aston, who plays Chesney in the ITV soap, hand delivered the specially printed shirts to Mount Carmel High School pupils during lunchtime and also posed for pictures with the youngsters.

Sue Fielding, partnership manager at the school, said the students were ‘thrilled’ to see Sam, who went to Haslingden High School, and also helped with the order.

She said: “We order special memento sweatshirts each year for our year 11 students as they prepare to leave Mount Carmel.

“They feature the school logo and on the reverse a list of all their year group names within an outline of the year they leave.

“The printing company we use is part owned by Sam Aston.

“The sweatshirts were hand delivered during lunchtime by Sam so we surprised a group of students by asking them to come down to reception to help with the order.

“They were thrilled to see the celebrity delivery man and he obligingly posed for lots of photographs.”
