Downpours hit league hard again

IT was another rainaffect­ed weekend in the Lancashire League with no games completed on Sunday.

Accrington travelled to Ramsbottom where they managed to just get the first innings in. Ramsbottom won the toss and elected to field.

Profession­al Daryn Smit took 4-47, John Fielding 3-38 and Simon Read 3-50 as Accrington were bowled out for 139 in 40.4 overs after being 76-0.

Captain Graeme Sneddon top scored with 48, while profession­al Ockert Erasmus added 32 and Keiran Grimshaw 24.

Church hosted Lowerhouse were they saw only 38 overs played. Church won the toss and choose to field.

Profession­al Dieter Klein top scored with 103 as Lowerhouse were 186-5 after 38 overs.

Adam Hugill was also 30 not out while Joe Hawke added 29. Levi Wolfenden took 3-45 and Jack Gaskill 1-22.

Rishton versus Rawtenstal­l was abandoned after 44 overs at the Worswick Memorial Ground. Rishton won the toss and decided to bowl.

They reached 165-8 off 44 overs, profession­al Shaun Von Berg top scored with 78 while opener Mo Patel contribute­d 39 and Josh Whitehead 14. Keith Roscoe took 4-29 off 17 overs and Rizwan Shafiq 2-24.

Enfield’s game against Bacup was abandoned at 5:40pm at Dill Hall Lane. Enfield won the toss and decided to field. There was only 39 overs of play possible.

Bacup reached 129-2 with profession­al Haseeb Azam top scoring with an unbeaten 59 while Tim Farragher added 33 not out, Adam Highley (18) and Matt Collinge (11).

Liam Jackson only went for 24 runs off 17 overs as he picked up the wicket of Collinge.
