MORE than 2,300 people from Hyndburn have signed a petition calling for a second EU referendum (Observer, July 1 and website) Jayne Sloan Brennan: Ok let’s say they held another referendum. Remain wins...what about the other 17 million people who voted leave? It would just go on and on. Say they have another referendum and more people vote leave than the last referendum, what would you spit your dummies out about then? What’s done is done, it’s not going to change. Nobody thought it would happen and it has. Get a grip, grow some and move on. Let’s hope the politicians do the same instead of squabbling like toddlers and start debating what is best for our country. Stacy Walsh: Remember one of the reasons we have democracy is that people died for the right and people should respect that. At the end of the day the vote is to leave, end of! James Houghton: They also died for the unity that the Leave vote is throwing away. Martin Humphreys: Stop spitting your dummies out and shut up. Accept defeat and move forward, there are greater things out there and I for one refuse to live under the yoke of unelected bureaucrats in a different country! Sandra Wardle Chambers: What we gonna do, vote until people get the answer they want? Early days, people panicking, get a grip and move on. It’s part of life. People went to war that didn’t want to go. I’m sick of hearing about it. Stewart Dunn: Most of England voted more then 52% to 48% so stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Leave won, end of story. Lee Makin: Strange how, what is considered to be the left side of the vote can’t accept democracy. John O’Connor: We’ve not been fully part of the EU anyway. We didn’t adopt the Euro and there’s a strip of water between us and them. Brian Mclean: Two thirds of Hyndburn voted out. Democracy. John Duckett: Shame we couldn’t have a second election. Gavin Meek: Get over it, the UK are not having another referendum.

PICTURES reveal finished look of Accrington’s new bus station (Observer, July 1 and website) Alan Slater: I bet the yobs can’t wait to get their graffiti pens out. Remember who said it first. Martin Hanratty: Oh yee of little faith it’s a new building in Accrington – investment! Yes it’s expensive, yes not much in Accrington re shopping. Yes it could fail – but it’s built, looks great and hopefully will be used to attract new people & investment. Please save your negative comments. It could actually work with others investing in the town centre. Kyle Corke: How will this new bus station attract more people into the town? Guess it be a good place for homeless people to have a sleep. Kenny Hodkinson: To be fair, it does look alright. But I’ve got a car so it won’t affect me in the slightest..... Scott Antony Slater: Plenty of seats for commuters and the elderly to sit on. Obviously expecting it to be busy. Sam Mercer: Some people cry when shops close (M&S) then they cry when the town attempts to attract these shops back with a new bus station.
