Safehands in nursery takeover

-

A LONG-RUNNING nursery in Rishton is now under new management.

Safehands Nurseries have taken over the well-established First Class Nursery, which has been based on Noble Street for the last ten years.

The new nursery operation will provide day care for children up to five.

Kate Martin, childcare operations manager for Safehands Nurseries, said: “We have some exciting plans to develop the nursery in the coming months. We will shortly be starting a complete refurbishment to ensure a better layout and feel to the nursery. For existing parents it will be business as usual.”

The move brings the number of nurseries in the North West run by Safehands Group to 14 and recent acquisitions to seven.

Managing director Paul Manning said: “The nursery market in the UK is evolving as regulation gets more and more onerous; it is difficult for standalone nurseries to keep up with the change and administration.

“The trend to larger groups is inevitable.

“Safehands offers the benefits of a group without the rigidity of the larger operators.

“I would like to thank Susan Woodworth for handing the baton to Safehands”.

James Williams, of BDO LLP who acted for the nursery, said: “As a regional operator, Safehands understood the local market and had worked hard to meet the vendor’s requirements”.
