WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:

WE asked whether Accrington bus station should be charging 20p for people to use the toilet (Facebook)

Shirley Southward: I actually don’t mind paying 20p for the loo if it means I get a nice, clean toilet with soap and hot water to wash my hands. Shannon Martina Smith: Not everyone carries change. What if you are in desperate need of the loo but don’t have any change on you? Stewart Walsh: Run to McDonald’s. Christine Rawcliffe: If you do have charge people to use the loo it should be no more than 10p, having said that I suppose they have to reap in funds from somewhere. Susan Parkinson: Same at the new Blackburn bus station. I wouldn’t pay so went back in market hall where they were free, also enough free toilets in Accy so don’t pay. Kylie Bailey: I’ve heard of spending a penny, but come on! 20p for a wee?? Then we will have a stinky bus station as drunks will urinate against the walls! Gary M Hough: I’m surprised anyone’s that bothered seeing as how most said they wouldn’t use the station anyway. Amy L Westell: To charge any person to use a toilet is outrageous! Mary Beavis: If the toilets are clean and sanitised I am happy to pay. Sandra Ratcliffe: Oh for God’s sake stop moaning and just pay the 20p. Lauren Pilkington: Cheap compared to Leeds! 30p and 40p I’ve seen so far. Andrea Janette Fell: 20p is a small amount. Sam Mercer: Cheaper than a Freddo. Margaret Duffy: Glasgow Buchanans Street charges 30p, a disgrace Jo Reeves: So will the toilets near the old bus station be shut now? Nowt free these days. Michele Wilkinson: To pay for the bus station. Hazel Street: Of course 20p is too much, there should be an attendant there. Elaine Stuttard: Disappointed, it a joke Adam Coulthard: Aren’t the toilets at the old bus station free? Joanne JoJo Rogers: Yeah that why they are a mess. I went in a few weeks ago, there was bog roll all over the floor and toilets not been flushed, they were disgusting. Adam Coulthard: Ok I think I’ve used them twice all my life so would not bother me to pay 20p if they keep it in better condition. Scott Neil Berry: What, when the idiots of the town want to use the loo? Do you think they will pay?

They will just pee any- where in the toilets.

ACCRINGTON town centre road layout labelled a ‘dogs dinner’ (Observer July 15)

Joe Hall: It’s hard to see this whole project as anything more than a complete waste of tax payer’s money. The bus stop’s new location is going to make things even tougher for market traders as they’ll lose out on footfall, the only places set to benefit from the new location are the Nags Head and the Railway. Welcome to Accrington! Why not offer free rates and rent for new businesses wanting to set up in the Arndale with this money? Fill an empty shopping centre and give entrepreneurs some support. David Ainsworth: What do you expect? The council shouldn’t be allowed to get involved, stick to emptying bins and sweeping streets, anything else bring in a expert. Vickie Tetley Kenyon: Seriously??? It’s not actually that bad. Maybe they could use their energy saving the town instead of moaning about the roads. Gary M Hough: It’s not a dogs dinner but from what I can see the money could have been better spent. If you drive sensibly, don’t jump red lights, block junctions and the rest of it then it moves well enough.
