CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

CHARLOTTE Emily Johns, 24, of Craven Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, resisting a police officer in the execution of her duty and using a car without insurance and a test certificat­e. She was fined £240, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 16 months, reduced by 16 weeks if she completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

TERESA Williams, 50, of Wordsworth Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to notify Hyndburn Council of a change in circumstan­ces affecting her entitlemen­t to housing benefit and failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions of a change in circumstan­ce affecting her entitlemen­t to income support. She was given a 12-month conditiona­l discharge.

JUDITH Onouorah, 47, of Station Road, Huncoat, pleaded guilty of failing to notify Hyndburn Council of a change in circumstan­ces affecting her entitlemen­t to housing benefit. She was given a 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs.

DARREN Martin Prestage, 31, of Burnley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty of dangerous driving. He was given a 16-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a 12-month supervisio­n requiremen­t, 30-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, ordered to pay £500 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 15 months.

CARL Wogden, 53, of Canal Street, Church, pleaded guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was given a six-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.

YVONNE Daly, 42, of Dunnyshop Avenue, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

SHAUNA Louise Graham, 24, of Springfiel­d Road, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

JOSEPH McBlain, 35, of Howarth Avenue, Church, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

JAMES Parry, 33, of Blackburn Road, Great Harwood, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

PARVEEN Ziarab, 39, of Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

JONATHAN James Read, 33, of Queens Road West, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and assault by beating. He was given a four-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a supervisio­n requiremen­t, 20-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and ordered to pay £200 compensati­on and £85 costs.

JULIAN Mark Briggs, 45, of Spring Hall, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the Department for Work and Pensions with a view to obtaining disability living allowance. He was given a 14-week community order with a curfew requiremen­t and ordered to pay £1,000 compensati­on.

CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court: WILLIAM John Allison, 68, of Cartmel Avenue, Accrington, was found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving. He was fined £60, ordered to pay £350 costs and given three points on his driving licence.
