WE have got some fantastic events lined up this summer at the Haworth Art Gallery.

This Sunday, July 31, is a fabulous craft fair, with a baker’s dozen of fantastic craft stalls including jewellery, ceramics, greeting cards, candles and glassware – this is a truly stunning range of unique gift items.

Entrance to the fair is free and you will have the opportunity to meet the crafters and discuss their work.

On Sunday, August 7, there will be a fantastic treat for all music lovers with our free concert with the Skip Pickers. The Skip Pickers are a trio of experienced musicians comprising husband and wife, Laurie and Carol

(pictured), together with bassist Bernie.

Carol is the energetic, charismatic lead vocalist and plays fiddle to a high standard, while Laurie provides guitar and vocals and is regarded as a major exponent of the five-string banjo.

Not surprisingly their music includes a variety of styles from country bluegrass jigs and reels through to jazz, folk and blues numbers.

Their influences are also varied, citing Bessie Smith’s blues standards, Flatts and Scrugg’s bluegrass combined with several traditional folk songs from Britain and the USA.

All in all something for everyone, so please be early to reserve your seat!
