THERE’S no such thing as a quiet month for The Civic and July was no exception; Escape Rooms was a huge success, as was the brilliantl­y entertaini­ng Forbidden Nights and for those that attended, watch this space for some exciting news in the future.

August is our month of Summer Schools and we still have three more to go! ReAct Academy’s ‘Wicked’ Summer School runs from August 15 to 19, with a show on the Friday, then The Civic’s Mickey’s Play in a Week runs from Monday, August 22 to Friday 26, with a show on Saturday, August 27.

Our final summer school is run by Sparks and runs from Monday, August 29 to Friday, September 2, with a show on the Friday.

In the Arts Centre we are the chosen venue for the first Meet ‘n’ Match event night in East Lancashire – an evening of speeddatin­g, karaoke and disco for adults with learning difficulti­es.

Tickets are just £5 each with carers free and are available from The Civic and is on Friday, August 19, at 6.30pm.

The Theatre welcomes Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball on Saturday, August 13, for their new play The Dressing Room, a comedy play about life behind-the-scenes, which includes an all-star cast with Stu Francis, Johnny Casson and Kate Robbins.
