Olympic uniform provider celebrate big award win

-

AN Altham-based uniform provider has won two top industry awards.

Simon Jersey collected the trophies for ‘best stock design’ and ‘long service award’ for design manager Helen Harker at the Professional Clothing Awards.

The company was also highly commended for its most recent uniform catalogue, which features some of the stars of Team GB who are competing at the Rio Olympics.

The awards, judged by peers and textile experts, recognise the best companies, people and products in the sector which provides every type of uniform.

Simon Jersey’s most recent wins follow an award from the Guild of Beauty Therapists which recognised the company as the UK’s best uniform supplier.

James Saunders, Simon Jersey managing director, said: “It’s always fantastic to be recognised by your peers and we were thrilled to have our products judged as some of the best in the industry.

“We’re over the moon for Helen too. She’s been a key figure in the industry for many years, constantly aiming to innovate and inspire the team at Simon Jersey and beyond.

“Her award is very well deserved.”

Helen has worked at Simon Jersey for 28 years and is responsible for the uniforms at Emirates Airlines, as well as leading the team who created the Rio 2016 designs for Team GB.

She said: “It feels wonderful to have been given the award, especially in such a special year when we have the opportunity to dress Team GB for the Olympic Games.”
