IAN T is set to rock Haworth Art Gallery
Ian T is a singersongwriter also known as “The Night Owl” and will be performing live at the Haworth Art Gallery on Sunday, September 4 at 2pm.
He sings because he likes singing, it’s as simple as that. He grew up with his mum singing as she did the housework and from the first time he sang in public, as a five-yearold, he has continued to play and perform.
While a student in Coventry, he sang in a harmony group doing Beatles, Crosby Stills and Nash and Lindisfarne tunes and later, in Liverpool, in a pop band, doing covers by Fleetwood Mac and Roxy Music as well as his own compositions.
He has sung with a large number of musicians while living in Mexico and since moving to East Lancashire he has performed as part of a successful duo in Nightowl.
The songs he performs as a solo artist covers a wide range of styles including 1930s classics such as ‘I’ve Got You under My Skin, 1950-60s rock n roll, for example The Small Faces’ Sunny Afternoon, and the best of contemporary music, for instance Price Tag by Jessie J.
His own songs are often reflective and always based on personal experience.
This performance is free and there is no need to book, but be early to reserve your seat.
The Gallery Kitchen will also be open, serving light lunches and afternoon tea as well as drinks. Contact the Kitchen Gallery direct on 01254 491660 to book a table.
The gallery is open from 12 noon to 4.45pm Tuesday to Friday and 12 noon to 4.15pm Saturday, Sunday, free entrance and parking.
