Bride-to-be Crystal opens up wedding dress shop

-

A BRIDE-TO-BE has opened her own affordable wedding dress shop in Rishton.

Crystal Taylor has set up Crystal’s Bridal Wear on High Street to help other brides who are struggling to pay the high price of wedding dresses.

The 28-year-old, who previously worked in a care home and also in the retail sector as a supervisor and manager, said she is ‘very excited’ to be starting the new business.

She said: “It’s a brand new venture. I started it because I’m getting married myself.

“It’s always something that I’ve been interested in but obviously looking for a dress myself I find that they can be very expensive with very big deposits.

“I looked into local wholesalers to do dresses at bargain prices.

“There’s already shops out there that do it but they are in Manchester and Liverpool and places like that.

“I wanted people to have somewhere local to come and get dresses that are all £400 and under.

“We do various flexible payment plans and deposits from £50 to help people who might struggle.

“They say the biggest bit of the wedding is the dress an they worry about it and it’s to help take that pressure off and save them money.”

The shop opened last week following a ‘very successful’ open day and Crystal, who lives in Accrington, said business is already going well.

She said: “We have sold four dresses this week and we have got appointments booked with people coming from Carlisle and Middlesbrough. The word of mouth is spreading really well.”

The shop will also start selling prom dresses from January next year. newstraid.org.uk
