COMEDY folk group the Houghton Weavers will be performing at the Civic Arts Centre in Oswaldtwistle on Saturday, September 17 at 7.30pm. THE Dog Inn at Belthorn hosts a weekly pub quiz every Thursday night. Prizes offered for the top three teams and just £1 per person entry fee. The quiz also incorporates 3 rounds of Play Your Cards Right, with the highest jackpot so far being over £300. The pub will be closed on Monday nights from 6pm until further notice for essential improvement works which cannot be done when the pub is open.

LAUREN’S Place, a charity set up in memory of Oswaldtwistle teenager Lauren Johnson, will be holding a trustee open meeting on Wednesday, September 28 from 7-8.30pm at the Civic Arts Centre in Oswaldtwistle. Come along and meet the current trustees and find out more about getting involved with Lauren’s Place.

A CHANGE of use application from offices to two houses at 42 New Lane, Oswaldtwistle has been submitted to Hyndburn Borough Council by Mr William Lancaster. A householder has also applied for a single storey rear extension and pitched roof to side at 275 Blackburn Road in Oswaldtwistle.
