LINDA SOUTHCOTT

-

LINDA Southcott nee Greenwood died peacefully after a long illness, in the East Lancashire Hospice, with her loving husband and daughter by her side on Sunday, August 21, aged 59.

Linda lived in Accrington all her life. She met Stuart and they were together for more than 43 years.

They had a daughter Shontell and they went everywhere together. Linda was a housewife and loved looking after her family.

She enjoyed motorbikes with her husband in earlier times. She loved walking in the countryside, especially in the rain! She was a fan of the late Jim Morrison of The Doors and visited his grave in Paris many times.

She fell in love with Paris 20 years ago and in the final year of her illness she managed to travel to Paris three more times with her husband and daughter.

Linda had a big collection of Kipling bags which she saved with her daughter Shontell. She gave a lot of them away to her friends during her illness, as a thank you for being there at a difficult time and to remember her by.

Linda always put others before herself, even when she was very ill, she helped others. It took the last two years of her illness to realise her true friends and she enjoyed days out and holidays with them. She managed to do all her bucket list.

Linda’s family would like to thank everyone who helped in the last two years. Special thanks to the East Lancashire Hospice, as she called her five-star hotel, run by angels. Thanks to district nurses especially Janice Brooks at St George’s Surgery, Blackburn.

Linda was the loving wife of Stuart and beloved mother of Shontell. Daughter of the late Thomas Greenwood.

Her funeral service and cremation was held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, August 30.

Donations if desired, are requested for the East Lancashire Hospice c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
