MRS Zelma O’Reilly - nee Rainford - formerly of Rishton and Nelson, passed away on October 9, peacefully surrounded by her loving family in hospital, aged 80 years.

Zelma started her working life in the mills and later became a landlady along with her husband at Victoria WMC, Bacup, The Royal Oak in Mytholmroy­d and then The Swan Hotel, Accrington before taking early retirement and moving to Rishton.

Zelma loved getting away to her static caravan in Gisburn ever weekend with her family and always looked forward to holidays abroad for some rest and relaxation. She travelled several times to Australia to visit her brother and family and enjoyed many Mediterran­ean cruises, in later years she enjoyed coach holidays with her friends. A truly devoted family lady who always looked forward to the family getting together every Sunday and always ensured Christmas was a magical time celebratin­g with all the family.

Zelma loved to settle in her favourite chair and watch the soaps on TV or listen to one her talking books. She was a true family legend who will be greatly missed.

The devoted wife of the late Arthur, loving and much-loved mum of Si, Neil, Lorraine, Ann and Zelma, dear mother-inlaw of Sandra, Mick, John and Stewart, cherished grandma of Michael, Joanne, Daniel, Rebecca, Rachel, Francesca, Cheyenne, Tom, Molly and Scarlett, greatgrand­ma of Harrison, Ashton, Carter, Charlie, Isla and Jason and a dear sister, auntie and friend.

Zelma’s funeral service will take place at 11.40am on Tuesday, October 18, at Accrington Crematoriu­m.
