A MEET ‘n’ Match Halloween party for adults with learning disabiliti­es will be held at the Civic Arts Centre on Union Road in Oswaldtwis­tle on Friday, October 28 from 6.30pm-10pm. Tickets for the event are £5 and carers go free. The Civic will also be hosting a children’s Halloween party on Saturday, October 29 from 1pm-3pm. Tickets are £7 and adults go free. THE Dog Inn Community Pub at Belthorn will be hosting a children’s Halloween party on Saturday, October 29 from 6pm-8pm. Prizes will be awarded for the best outfits. Tickets are £3 per child.

COMMUNITY Solutions North West will be holding its Christmas celebratio­n event at Elmfield Hall in Gatty Park in Church on Saturday, November 26, starting at 11am. The event will include food outlets, family games, live entertainm­ent and a visit from Father Christmas. Tickets are available at www.csnw.co.uk.

MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwis­tle have teamed up with students from Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School to plant crocus bulbs in areas of grassland around Church and Oswaldtwis­tle. Funding for the project came from the Prospects Foundation. The autumn crocus planting project is now in its sixth year.

President Jim Hargreaves said: “With the help of the Prospects Foundation and students from Rhyddings High school we are pleased to help bring some colour into the town when spring appears and is a further example of what Rotary can do for residents.”

A PLANNING applicatio­n for the constructi­on of a front and rear dormer extension to create two new bedrooms at 30 Hawthorn Avenue in Oswaldtwis­tle has been submitted to Hyndburn council.
