GWENDOLINE Margaret Clegg, of Accrington, formerly of Rossendale, passed away on Monday, December 5, peacefully in hospital, aged 84.

Gwen, as she was known, spent her working life in a variety of roles having worked in the early days at Ewbank, also as a window dresser, and her last job was working at Woolworths where many people got to know her.

In later years, Gwen loved to go to car boot sales and was an avid antique collector. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the keyboard, watching horror movies and making jumpers for her family on her knitting machine.

Gwen also spent a lot of time with Alan and together they shared a keen interest in trains, model railways.and photograph­y. They also enjoyed many holidays together and her favourite place was Whitby.

Much-loved mum of Yvonne and dear mother-in-law of the late Robert, Gwen was the cherished nanny of Deborah and Phillip and his partner Kelly, great-grandma of Jake, Caitlan, Charlie and Noah, and dear and treasured friend of Alan.

Gwen’s funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematoriu­m on Thursday, December 15, at 1.40pm.
