Belief is back after quality performance

KATERINA LEE’S BURNLEY VIEW

AND that’s us back to our fighting form! What a game it was, especially on Eddie Howe’s return to Turf Moor.

Two goals inside of the first 20 minutes of the game, Dyche putting on a power play side and that is all before even slight mention of Jeff Hendrick and that goal.

Before this match, I’d been asking why Dyche had wanted Hendrick and what he was bringing to the club. It was apparent in perhaps the first two matches after he’d signed for us, but then he seemed to slip away.

I’ll go as far as to say that this match he almost entirely ran the game. He was so positive in every move that he made. And what a way to open the score sheet for us.

The control he had to bring the ball down and then the absolute powerhouse of a goal was probably one of the best I’ve seen at Turf Moor since Robbie Blake’s piledriver against Man United.

It’s moments like this that make me want to just scream at our doubters and haters. We’ve got substance and flair and a quality that I’m just not used to, to be completely honest.

Let’s not forget Andre Gray’s unbelievable back heel into George Boyd, boyd’s exceptional finish and Stephen Ward’s goal. There’s many a time this season I’ve either been in tears or close to it, and Saturday was one of those games.

I really believe we can do this now. Yes, the away games need a serious improvement, tonight’s match against West Ham will be a mean feat, however if stats are anything to go by, we are in a better position than them by far.

We’ve got to go out and play almost exactly like we did on Saturday and I think we stand a real chance against our other claret premier league counterparts.

For now, I’m excited for our run up to Christmas. It’ll be two big games against ‘boro and Sunderland, two from which I’m so sure we can get the full six points. It’ll be nothing but disappointing if we don’t, given the obvious drive we have this season.

At this point in time, I’m nothing but hopeful for us.
