Coley admits to drop danger

JOHN Coleman concedes that his side are in danger of getting relegated.

The Reds boss was unhappy with his side last weekend following their 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient, and he is worried about the situation his side find themselves in.

“We have now got to treat this like a relegation battle,” he told the club’s official website.

“I think about it constantly and it’s a crisis.

“We have got to get out of this.

“We have got to get some goals.

“That’s what is killing us at the moment, not scoring goals. We’re making chances and playing reasonably but not winning games.

“If we don’t win games then we know where that takes us.

“Our first priority is getting away from the relegation zone.

“We’ve got to stop looking to blame everyone else and blame ourselves. I oversee training so it’s down to me.

“I’ll be judged on where we finish at the end of the season.”

Coleman received a boost this week when defender Zak Vyner recently made his return to action in the Lanca- shire Senior Cup match against Southport after suffering from an illness.

While that game may have ended in defeat, Vyner was glad to be back playing again and hopes to contribute for the side in the coming weeks.

“It was good to get back out there as I hadn’t done anything for a while. Nobody likes losing games but the 90 minutes and starting playing again will hopefully do me good,” he said.

“It was a massive boost to get the all clear.

“I had to get all the checks done.

“I felt OK but it’s obviously all done as a precaution and I was buzzing to be back on the bench at Orient without even getting onto the pitch. “It was good to be back. “There’s a chance to get into the side on Saturday and if you get that chance you have to take it.

“I hope I can get the opportunity and get another 90 minutes.

“I needed a game to blow the cobwebs out and get going again and I think this has been a good opportunity for me to do that.

“Hopefully I’ll be ready for Saturday now.”

Stanley face a tough task on Saturday when they host league leaders Plymouth Argyle at the Wham Stadium, but a win could see the Reds climb as high as 17th.
