CIVIC ARTS

-

WE’VE had an amazing run of shows this December but as we say farewell to another pantomime season, we’ve got so much to look forward to in the New Year!

2017 is already filling up with fantastic shows and we look forward to welcoming more and more people through the doors of The Civic to watch, take part and enjoy!

The first event back after our short Christmas break is The Gruffalo’s Child Party and Storytime on Saturday, January 14, at 10am and again at 1.30pm.

For the first time at The Civic, see this popular children’s story come to life, with fun and games, character interaction and live storytelling. It’s suitable for ages 3-7 (though it’s enjoyable for everyone)! Tickets are £7.50 for children and £3.50 for adults and are on sale now but are selling fast – so book early!

January will see St Mary’s Panto Group, a local youth theatre group, perform their 50th production at The Civic – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

This classic fairy tale is full of all the characters you know and love but has a modern twist. You can see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Thursday, January 19, and Friday, January 20 at 7.30pm and on Saturday, January 21, at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are just £7 each and available from The Civic.

Meet ‘n’ Match, a friendship and dating agency for adults with learning disabilities, has made The Civic its home for event nights in Hyndburn throughout 2017.

The group is back with a Carnival theme party night on Friday, January 20, from 6.30pm until 9.30pm. There’ll be music, karaoke and a disco. Tickets are just £5 each, with carers free of charge – tickets are available from both Meet ‘n’ Match and The Civic.

After the success of our charity events in 2016, we have planned more for 2017 and our first is An Evening of Six Mediums on Thursday, January 26, at 7.30pm.

Six mediums will take to the stage to deliver messages to our audience members and all profits from this event will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tickets are £10 and available now.

Don’t forget, The Civic is also home to lots of community groups and classes and if you would like to try something new in 2017 please get in touch.

Whether it’s dancing or drama, yoga or exercise classes – there’s something for everyone to be a part of. Please call us to find out more.

You can find out about all our events on our website, www. civicartscentre.co.uk or pick up a copy of our new events guide. To book tickets call us on 01254 398319 or come in to the box office.
