WE LIVE IN REAL WORLD

-

IN reply to Socialist Brian Livesey’s letter, “We don’t need a History Class” it’s quite obvious that he does.

Firstly I don’t know what he does or did for a living.

I worked in the Aerospace industry all my working life and was proud to do so, and still am, just like thousands of other people.

His remarks about the arms industry are as valid as people blaming the auto motive industry for the thousands of people who died throughout the world because of idiotic drivers.

As to his asking how I would respond if I found myself at the receiving end of a British made weapon, in three words “not very happy.”

But neither would I be happy if I was at the receiving end of an ISIS knife attack or a terrorist’s weapon no matter whoever made it.

Ask the hundred plus people killed in Paris killed by automatic weapons, which were possible Soviet or eastern bloc made Kalashnikovs?

Ask the people of Nice or Berlin who were killed by a vehicle driven indiscriminately at them or the people throughout the world that have been killed over the years by terrorist bombs that have killed thousands of innocent people.

Nobody wants to see war and conflicts no matter where these conflicts are.

We would all like to live in a world free from violence

But sadly, unlike the socialists like Brian Livesey, I and millions more live in the real world.

His ilk is forever complaining and criticising but come up with no sensible or positive answers that would satisfy all the nations leaders no matter what their political believes are.

If it was that simple doesn’t he think that the world’s organisations such as the United Nations would have solved the problem years ago? A P Moxham Great Harwood
