Perfect New Year gift for two families
MUMS-TO-BE were given a New Year’s Day to remember as their new arrivals made an appearance on January 1.
Olivia-Mae Brindle was born 10 days late, but her delighted mum Charlotte Brindle, from Clayton-leMoors, said the timing of her first child was just perfect.
She was the first baby born on New Year’s Day at the Burnley Birth Centre, arriving at 4.47am and weighing 8lb 10oz.
Charlotte, 22, who works as a receptionist at Merseycare Hospital in Whalley, said: “She was due on December 22 but she hung on until the New Year instead of Christmas.
“I had to be induced as she was so late.
“I was induced on December 30 but she didn’t arrive until New Year’s Day.”
Charlotte was supported at the birth by her mum Catherine Brindle and sister Claire Brindle.
She said: “It was lovely to have my mum and my sister there.
“I never expected her to be born on New Year’s Day. I thought she would be here at Christmas.
“It’s been lovely and a great start to 2017. It’s amazing to be a mum.”
Nally Kader was also born at the birth centre at 1.13pm to Accrington parents Sozen Magdid Kader and Mohedeen Daron Nawzad, 32.
Nally weighed 8lb 15oz and is a younger brother for Rudina Nawzad, three.
Sozen, 29, who is a law- yer and originally from Iraq, said he is a ‘beautiful boy’.
She said: “It’s a big celebration for us. We are really proud of this day.
“We all wished for him to be born on New Year’s Day.
“He should have been born on January 5 so he was a little early.
“I’m absolutely shocked and over the moon. We didn’t expect it at all.
“It’s a big day for us and it’s two celebrations for us in one with a new baby boy and a new year.”
