VERONICA Gamson, of Clayton-le-Moors, died peacefully in hospital on Saturday, February 18, aged 81.

She was the devoted wife of the late Jack, much-loved mum of Pauline and Graham, cherished grandma of Simon, Claire, David and Nicholas, greatgrand­ma of Isabella, dear sister of Sarah, Ronald and his wife Marie, and also dear friend of Harold and Joyce.

After leaving school Vera started her working life as a weaver.

She later worked as a book-keeper and eventually retired early due to ill health from Ward Knowles where she worked as a cleaner.

Vera loved to go out dancing in local clubs with her husband Jack and their many friends. She also enjoyed her sun holidays in Europe with Jack and Jack’s cousin Walter.

In her spare time, Vera enjoyed arts and crafts and got involved within local card-making clubs and always sent homemade cards to her family and friends for all occasions.

Vera always looked forward to her weekly trips to Accrington for a spot of lunch with her good friend Joyce.

Vera’s funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematoriu­m, Burnley Road, Accrington on Monday, February 27, at 3pm.

No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Vera on behalf of the Stroke Associatio­n via the funeral director.
