Luck against Clarets away from home

-

CLARET’S VIEW KATERINA LEE

AS our away games go, the result was better but the quality of football was not.

As I’ve said before, we may not have won away from home but we have certainly been unlucky. Take our performance against Arsenal at the Emirates for example, yes to give away a penalty so late on was unfortunate, but we entirely ran the match in the first half.

We always seem to have a rough time away to Hull, the start of the season is a great example.

So to draw was an excellent result both to boost our away form, our spirits going in to what is going into a long run of games away from Turf Moor and finally gain another point on the road.

However, we were sloppy in so many respects. Brady impressed us all so much with his glorious free kick against Chelsea, but it seemed he was having trouble in the final third on Saturday.

Michael Keane had an odd few minutes, from a hand ball at one end to a goal at the other, and then of course Ashley Barnes was sent off.

I know a few Clarets are worried about Barnes being suspended, but I think he has been off the boil recently and therefore if Vokes is given more time on the pitch, it could do wonders for us up front.

Don’t even get me started on Andre Gray at the moment. I’m not quite sure what is happening, but it certainly isn’t positive. He missed sitters against Lincoln and there wasn’t much improvement this weekend either. He had a clear chance in the first half that he scuffed and I’m hoping that with Barnes out for a few matches, this might be what kicks him into gear going into Saturday’s match against Swansea.

An away draw for us should stand us in good stead going into our next away fixture, however the Liberty is never an easy place to go to, especially when they’re fighting relegation.

I’m not very hopeful going into the match this weekend. A draw against Hull is a glimmer of hope in our run of difficult away games, so even a loss at Swansea and hopefully a win against Sunderland would keep us in the good position that we are in the league.

As long as we keep on plugging away, that’s all I can ask for.
