Reunion for class of ‘73

-

FORMER pupils will meet for a night of nostalgia at a school reunion.

Members of the ‘class of 1973’ at Holy Family RC High School in Accrington – now Mount Carmel – will reunite to reminisce about their school days and catch up on four decades of life.

Co-organiser Chris Mattison, nee Spooner, said they have held class reunions every five years for pupils who attended the school between 1968 and 1973.

The next and sixth gathering will take place at Accrington Stanley FC on Saturday, April 1, from 7.30pm.

Chris said: “I have been involved for the last five reunions, with Steve Bamber. We have a good turnout of between 50 and 60 people and this time we have someone coming from as far as Peru.

“We have a disco and chat, I put pictures up going back to when we were in our 30s and 40s.

“Sometimes we have a couple of ex-teachers come along and we also do a bit of a memorial on the night for people who are no longer with us.”

For more information on the reunion call Chris on 07751 375276, Gerard Grimshaw on 07532 414872 or email Steve Bamber at steve@ townsend-music.com.
