STANLEY manager John Coleman harboured mixed emotions after the 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town.

He said: “I don’t think we played anywhere near like we could in the first half.

“We started off alright, we put the opposition on the back foot but then I felt as if we went into our shell a little bit.

“We looked a bit leggy and tired and we did not do the simple things right, we gave the ball away far too cheaply and we did not track or mark runners the way we should do.

“Overall it was probably a substandard performance by us all.”

Nevertheless, Coleman could not fault the effort of his players for the duration they were a man down and applauded the teams character in response to this.

“The red was probably systematic of how we started, Scotty has apologised to myself and the lads, but then it was backs to the wall.

“We continued to try and play and we did well in the opening stages of the second half and got the goal, but we are disappointed we conceded from the set play.

“But I am pleased for the players they got some type of reward for the effort they put in.”
