GOALKEEPER Marek Rodak was Stanley’s hero as they extended their unbeaten run with a 0-0 draw at Blackpool where over 1,000 fans went to cheer them on.

Blackpool were awarded a penalty after Seamus Conneely fouled Jack Payne with a high boot in the area.

Sean McConville wasted a good chance before half-time on the edge of the area but he fired wide.

The second half saw Stanley burst into life. Matty Pearson saw his effort cleared off the line by former Accrington man Tom Aldred while Jordan Clark had his header held at the second attempt by Sam Slocombe.

Blackpool had their big chance on 75 minutes when Vassell saw his penalty saved by Rodak.

Chaos occurred in the 88th minute. Pearson raced free but keeper Sam Slocombe came out to the edge of the area and tried to grab the ball. The ref had his whistle ready but played advantage with the chance then disappearing.

Billy Kee had Accrington’s final chance with a longrange shot which was inches over the bar.

Blackpool’s Kelvin Mellor hit the post with a flicked header.

On the penalty decision, Coleman said: “You’ve just got to trust the referee and he’s got a decision to make.

“Big call for the pen for them and we think that it’s outside the box. We’ve got two good claims for penalties.”
