YOUR PROFILE
Name: Stacey Anderton.
Hometown: Oswaldtwistle.
Which production are you currently working on?: Oswaldtwistle Players’ next production, the hilarious, moving and up-lifting drama ‘Brassed Off’.
Who is your character in the play?: I play Sandra. She and her husband Phil are going through some rough times and really struggling with money and bills and this tests their relationship. In the play you will see their good times and bad times together and there are some really nice moments showing the relationship between the two of them.
How long have you been
with Oswaldtwistle Players?: This is my first production with the Oswaldtwistle Players.
What do you most enjoy?: Acting is my passion; I enjoy portraying different characters and personalities and creating a story on stage that makes the audience think and sometimes even relate to the characters. I have always enjoyed performing and have achieved a BA Honours Degree in Theatre and Performance at University.
Have you been in any other productions?: I have performed in several productions with school/ college/university and performed a few plays here at the Civic such as the rock musical Rent, We Will Rock You and The Thrill of Love and I also performed in Antigone and the Wrath of Thebes last year, which was my first leading role.
Who is your favourite actor and why?: Johnny Depp, he inspires me so much and I love the ‘odd’ characters that he plays as I always like a challenge and to try different things like he does. He only plays characters that he is interested in and he can benefit from and he does it so well. I just think he is a fantastic actor and he isn’t afraid to be different, which is why I love him.
If you could play any part what would it be and why?: I would love to play Mrs Lovett from Sweeney Todd, I love the film and I find her character so interesting, she faces many obstacles and goes through so many emotions and I would really enjoy taking on this role. I would also like to play Ariel from The Little Mermaid just because I love Disney and this is one of my favourites.
