ACCRINGTON AND DISTRICT BONSAI SOCIETY

CORIN Tomlinson gave another splendid talk and demonstration on oaks and azaleas at our April meeting.

It was very informative and well attended.

Our first show of the year is once again at Daisy Nook Garden Centre, Stannybrook Road, Failsworth, Manchester.

We set up on Saturday on April 29 and run until Monday, May 1.

There will be the Don Daglish Trophy for the best tree in show, also our popular demos using garden centre material.

May 9 is our next club meeting at Hippings Vale Community Centre, Oswaldtwistle. We start at 7.30pm. Dave Pickering will doing a photo session so bring along your best trees.

We will also be holding our Tree in an Unusual Pot competition.

Our April tree of the month was won by Keith Tarpey for his Escalonia.

We are at the start of a busy season of shows and workshops but it’s not too late to join our very active club.
