It wasn’t enough though, as Bacup came up short and suffered defeat after going from 150-5 to 159 all out.

So she raised both eyebrows when the fixture list was published, with the Thunder opening up with a Roses clash at the Diamonds in one of the six matches to be televised by Sky this season as double headers also including fixtures from the NatWest T20 Blast.

“I’ve been thrown into the cauldron first up,” said Hazell.

“Yorkshire, at Yorkshire, in a double header, on Sky. Good luck skip.

“Hopefully I don’t get in front of that Western Terrace – I think I might put somebody else in front of that.

“A lot of people have said to me that not many players go from Yorkshire to Lancashire, it’s a little bit scary.”
