TIME TRIP

THIS week’s Time-trip takes a look back at a night out in Accrington in 2009.

We have pictures of locals enjoying themselves at The Calder Inn on Blackburn Road eight years ago.

The pub, previously known as ‘The Calder’, underwent a £20,000 refurbishment last year.

It reopened under the new name of Varsity Accrington in November, creating around 15 new jobs.

In our weekly Time-trip feature, we publish a set of pictures taken by Accrington Observer photographers which appeared in the paper in the 2000s. They can be seen first on our website and are then printed in the paper.
