A bigger role for Brayden at Bangor

- SHELDAN KEAY

BRAYDEN Shaw will play a major role in the Bangor City team according to managerial duo Kevin Nicholson and Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

Shaw left Accrington Stanley last week to join Welsh side Bangor for an undisclosed record transfer fee.

The 20-year-old midfielder has previously played on loan at Bangor, making 18 league appearances and scoring three goals during a brief spell last season.

He now heads to Bangor on a permanent basis, and manager Kevin Nicholson believes the Stanley recruit will hit the ground running.

“We are delighted with the signing of Brayden. He has experience of the WPL following his spell with the club last season,” he said.

“We are excited about working with him in the upcoming season and expect him to positively impact our team.”

Nicholson’s assistant manager at Bangor is Taylor-Fletcher, who previously played for Accrington during a short spell last season.

“Brayden is another quality signing who the Bangor fans will already know,” he said.

“He is someone who will not only massively improve our squad but also have a huge impact on our first 11. These are the calibre of signings we are after to take us on again from last season.”

Shaw will link up with some familiar faces at Bangor, joining ex-Stanley midfielder Steven Hewitt. Luke Wall has also joined Bangor after he was released by Accrington at the end of the season.
